Dallas MLK Center hosting Juneteenth Festival
Visitors are invited to enjoy Dallas’ annual Juneteenth event, a fun-filled family festival from noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, June 19 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, located at 2922 MLK Jr. Blvd. This free event will feature vendors, games, food, live music from local artists, and live radio broadcasts.

Caribbean Cuisine Restaurant, will co-host the First Annual Juneteenth Business Mixer and Meeting on Thursday, June 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jamaica Gates Caribbean Cuisine Restaurant, 1020 W. Arkansas Ln., in Arlington.
This event is free to the public and all are encouraged to bring business cards.
The keynote speaker for the event will be Mr. Andre’ McEwing, Supplier Diversity Manager for Tarrant County College District. Mr. McEwing is also an Executive Board Member of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The “T”) and the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce. His topic will be: “How to Create Economic Freedom as a DFW Business Owner.”

Dr. Cornel West, a nationally recognized writer, teacher, and activist will be in Dallas Juneteenth weekend on Friday, June 20 in support of the work of Mothers Against Police Brutality (MAPB), an emerging, Dallas-based organization seeking justice for the victims of police violence, excessive use of force, and deadly force.
