Texas Lottery: Plano man claims $1M Powerball prize

Texas Lottery Pic(AUSTIN) – Plano resident Harold Laufgraben has claimed a Powerball ticket worth $1,000,008. The second-tier prizewinning ticket was purchased in Euless at the RaceTrac at 220 W. Euless Blvd.

His Quick Pick ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (11-13-25-39-54), but not the red Powerball number (19) for the Feb. 11 drawing for a $564.1 million jackpot. The claimant requested minimal publicity.

The current estimated annuitized Powerball jackpot is $60 million with an estimated cash value of $40.1 million for Saturday night’s drawing.

Also, Kimberly C. Nolley of Rosharon claimed a Mega Millions prize worth $1,000,002 at the Texas Lottery claim center in Houston. The ticket was purchased at the Country Place Conoco located at 2620 McHard Road in Pearland. The claimant requested minimal publicity.

Nolley’s ticket matched all five numbers drawn (6-45-50-65-66) but not the Mega Ball (1) for the drawing held Feb. 17. More than 81,000 tickets purchased in Texas for Tuesday’s drawing won amounts ranging from $1 to $1 million, but with no ticket matching all of the numbers drawn plus the Mega Ball the jackpot for tonight’s drawing jumped to an estimated annuitized $100 million, with a cash value of $64.2 million.

Mega Millions is played by picking five different numbers from one to 75 and one number from one to 15. To win the Mega Millions jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn including the Mega Ball. Players matching fewer numbers may not win the jackpot, but still walk away big winners. By choosing the Megaplier®for $1 more per play, players can multiply their non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four or five times, winning as much as $5 million.

  1. …I’m told that the average person has a better chance of being struck by lightening than he/she has of winning one of these lotteries…and they say that most lottery winners are broke within five years of winning..

  2. Well done, Harold! And wouldn’t we all just love to pick up a similar jackpot! I don’t know yet if this will work, but here’s what I’m doing to try and get a win. I’ve made up a little free and just-for-fun page which generates your own personal quick pick numbers. Who knows, it could work – you just never know your luck… As I say, it is completely free and just a bit of fun, so look out for VillaLibra Lucky Numbers if you want to see if you can locate it for yourself.
