Sunday morning around 11:40 a.m. Dallas police officers met with Dallas Fire and Rescue (DFR) at Charlton Methodist Hospital regarding the death of Ayden Strange, a 2 year old male toddler. According to Antonio Strange, the toddler’s father, the two were home alone inside their apartment located at 3829 Gannon Lane. Strange told authorities we went outside briefly, leaving the toddler alone. When he returned, the little boy was discovered unresponsive.
Strange called 911 and DFR responded to the scene and tried to resuscitate the toddler, but he was taken to Charlton Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Dallas Police Department’s Child Abuse Unit was notified and responded to the scene. During their investigation, detectives found sufficient evidence to suggest Strange was responsible for the death of his son.
Strange was taken into custody and booked into Lew Sterrett Jail. He is being charged with Injury to a Child which is a second degree felony.
