Irving ISD receives a Met Standard accountability rating by the state

irvingisdSingley Academy Earns All Seven Distinctions, Ranking in Top 1.9% of TX Schools

Under the state’s accountability system, Irving ISD’s rating for 2015 is Met Standard.

  • All five high schools Met Standard.
  • All eight middle schools Met Standard.
  • 19 of the 20 elementary schools Met Standard.
  • All three of the early childhood schools Met Standard.

Irving ISD schools have continued to show increases in student achievement. In 2013, five schools were rated Improvement Required (IR). In 2014, two schools were IR. For 2015, one campus is rated Improvement Required. Plans are already in motion to improve student performance at that school.

Campuses that are rated Met Standard are also eligible for Distinction Designations. Irving ISD schools showed significant increases in the number of Distinction Designations earned, and one campus – Singley Academy – earned Distinction in all seven categories. Compared to more than 8,600 schools statewide, Singley Academy is one of only 153 schools in Texas – and one of only 106 high schools – to earn all seven Distinction Designations. That places Singley Academy in the top 1.9 percent of all schools, statewide.

A comparative look at the Distinction Designations in the past three years is shown below.

  1. Yes Singley did a great job but couldn’t keep the great principal Dr. Smalkis that moved that campus to earn those distinctions! So sad for Irving!
