Due to forecasted weather conditions, kick off of the Nimitz vs. Irving football game has been moved to 6 p.m. tonight. The game will be held at Irving Schools Stadium. Gates will open at 5 p.m.
The game will take place in the rain but may be suspended temporarily if there is any lightning in the area.
In case of severe weather at Irving Schools Stadium, the stadium announcer will issue a warning to all those in attendance. The home band, drill team, support groups and fans will be directed to the Bowie Middle School gymnasium. The visiting band, drill team, support groups and fans will be directed to the Britain Elementary School gymnasium.  Players, coaches and officials will be moved to the field house. An announcement will be made when the all-clear is given and everyone is allowed back in the stadium.
The safety of our players, students and fans is a priority of the Irving ISD Athletic Department and Irving ISD, and all measures will be taken to ensure it.
