UPDATED: Price and Caraway get in a heated exchange at radio station

Update: Dallas Police Department issued the following statement:

“On February 22, 2016, at about 12:55 p.m., Dallas police were notified of a disturbance involving multiple people at the KHVN Radio Station at 5787 S. Hampton Road.

The radio station was sponsoring a candidate forum for the race for Dallas County Commissioner District 3.  Commissioner John Wiley Price, former Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Dwayne Caraway, Mr. Micah Phillips, and Balch Springs Mayor Cedric Davis were present along with other members of their staffs.

We are aware that there may be multiple video recordings of the altercation that took place and detectives are working to secure them.   A portion of the disturbance was captured on video and has been released to the media.”

Detectives from the Assaults Unit of the Crimes Against Persons Division are working to interview the involved parties and witnesses to the incident.

A verbal altercation broke out between longtime Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price and former city council member Dwaine Caraway at KHVN, a North Texas contemporary gospel radio station, this afternoon.

Candidates for Dallas County commissioner, including Micah B. Phillips, were at the station to talk about their campaigns. According to news director Robert Ashley, the altercation broke out during a commercial break and police were called to the scene.

  1. Well, since most elections are popularity contests as opposed to evaluations of issues, Duane raised his profile and came out the winner in this radio debate. Altough the video makes him appear to be a true fool, people now know his name well enough to (maybe) remember him on election day…In show business, they say that there is no bad publicity and that might apply in this case. We might know for sure on March1, 2016.
