Free Entrepreneur Boot Camp for Women on March 13

Black-Woman-Business-Owner-378x401The national Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF) will offer a free Entrepreneur Boot Camp for up-and-coming women business owners on Sunday, March 13, from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Anatole Hotel’s Imperial Ballroom, located at 2201 N. Stemmons Fwy. in Dallas. This interactive boot camp will offer information, skills and networking opportunities for women who are looking to start or grow an existing business. Online registration for this free event is required by March 11 at aldc.wff.org/bootcamp. The Entrepreneur Boot Camp is sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company in partnership with WFF and DFW International Airport.

“The Entrepreneur Boot Camp provides a unique opportunity for women-owned business enterprises to hear from a dynamic group of successful entrepreneurs and business experts who understand the challenges and opportunities to creating a profitable business,” said Hattie Hill, president and CEO of the Women’s Foodservice Forum.

The Entrepreneur Boot Camp offers a diverse array of expertise with featured speakers including Nely Galán, media mogul, TV producer and founder of The Adelante Movement, along with the senior leadership team from DFW International Airport plus representatives from McDonald’s Restaurants, Amegy Bank, Phase Next Hospitality, Puente Enterprises, Inc., Bryan Cave Chicago and even a Gen Z expert.

The opening keynote address will be given by Galán followed by a “People Who ‘Live It’ and Lessons from Leaders” panel discussion. Other topics will include “In Your Pain is Your Brand: Marketing Your Business with Authenticity” with Galán; a “Build, Sustain, and Grow Your Business” panel discussion; and a “Millennials, Generation Z and The Food Industry” session.

Each attendee will get a free one-year membership in WFF, the industry’s premier leadership development organization with more than 25 years of experience advancing women in the food industry.

The list of featured speakers joining Galán will be leaders from DFW International Airport: Linda Valdez-Thompson, executive vice president; Zenola Campbell, vice president; Tamela Lee, vice president of business diversity and development; and CEO Sean Donohue. In addition, Karen Lopez-McWilliams, owner/operator of McDonald’s Restaurants; Gina Puente, CEO of Puente Enterprises, Inc.; Joseph McCoy, managing partner of Bryan Cave’s Chicago; Roz Mallet, CEO of Phase Next Hospitality; Terry Morales, senior vice president of Amegy Bank, N.A.; and James Pogue, a Gen Z expert will share their business insights and advice.

Back by popular demand, the Entrepreneur Boot Camp returns for a second year as part of WFF’s annual conference, which runs March 13-16 in Dallas at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. It’s expected to attract more than 3,000 women leaders in business.
