The first annual Collin County Homeless Summit is scheduled for Nov. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Collin College Central Park Campus Conference Center located at Community Avenue and Taylor-Burke in McKinney. The goal of the summit is to raise awareness about homelessness in Collin County during Homeless Awareness Week. City Councils in Plano, Allen, Frisco, McKinney and Wylie issued proclamations acknowledging the week and the need for awareness.
More than 200 individuals have registered to attend the summit. McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller will open the summit with a welcome and Plano City Council Member Rick Grady is the scheduled Keynote Speaker.
