 The 2013 Billboard Music Awards have announced their nominees, and the top three dominating the pack are Maroon 5, Fun, and country star Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is no stranger when it comes to the award show, winning several awards in the past. She joins Rihanna and One Direction in the Top artist category, a category which she won back in 2009. Swift has had a very successful year, with her album Red debuting with the most record sales in a week for 2013.
Fun has also had quite the start with receiving its first No.1 single with the anthem, We are Young, which is nominated for Top hot 100 artist and top duo/ group categories and more.
Maroon 5 is a highly popular pop-soul group, who has added several hit songs to their successful career such as, Payphone and One more night. Maroon 5 is also nominated for Top due/group, Top digital song and many more.
Several other artists have much to celebrate, artist such as One Direction and Carly Rae Jepsen with nine and eight nominations. One Direction is nominated for top new artist in union with Caerly Rae Jespen. Alongside those artists, there is none other than Rihanna, who back in 2007 won the top artist award, and is nominated for the award once again this year among 10 other nominations.
Artists who are schedule to perform are Taylor Swift, Miguel, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars. Prince is also going to be honor with the Billboard Icon Award for this year ceremony.
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, airing live on May 19 on ABC. The host will be comedian and actor Tracy Morgan.
