Kevin Hart does a good job of explaining in Let Me Explain

Kevin Hart appears to be the current king of stand-up comedy these days and it shows in his let’s flick Let Me Explain.

Some of us still miss Katt Williams and hope he can get his act together for personal and professional reasons. Chris Rock seems content in going the safer route of family comedy flicks and while Dave Chappelle has announced a comeback, he has not arrived yet.

So, Kevin Hart on the success of his co-starring role in Think Like a Man last year and the highest grossing independent film of 2011 his Laugh at My Pain filmed comedy concert – now stands in position to be the reigning King of Comedy.

The film opens up with an extended skit about his world tour and it is an impressive European tour through your less than “urban” countries such as Denmark and Norway. This segment wins when you get a sense of the friendship of Hart and his boys – the guys on his team that have been with him through ups and downs. While they are no threat to Hart in the comedy department, they still have a few laughs to offer.  The skit gets a little long and just when you might begin to feel restless, the film transitions to the big night at Madison Square Garden.

His standup during the show features riffs on how he ended up divorced, for example, you got problems when your homeboy does not recognized the agreed password when you call on him as your alibi. By far the funniest segment was when he discovered his wife hiding in the trunk trying to catch him cheating. His attempts at horseback running will leave you in tears almost it is so funny.

The movie ends with an emotional and humbled Hart thanking fans for helping him to become the sixth comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden. Hart stands shoulder to shoulder with comedic giants like Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Dane Cook, George Carlin and Andrew Dice Clay.

The movie opened on Wednesday and if you are off today for the holiday weekend, you cannot only enjoy the movie but fans can see Kevin tonight. He will appear briefly at the following show times around the Metroplex:

6:30 PM – Cinemark 14 (280 Uptown Blvd Cedar Hill, TX 75104)

7:40 PM – Cinemark 17 (11819 Webb Chapel Dallas, TX 75234)

8:45 PM – Cinemark West Plano (3800 Dallas Pkwy Plano, TX 75093)

In the end for Hart to be declared the King Let Me Explain has to deliver the laughs and it does.
