Modern Healthcare names CTG Health Solutions one of best places to work in Healthcare

198CTG Health Solutions (CTGHS), a leading health information technology (HIT) consulting firm and a business unit of CTG, an IT solutions and services company, announced today that it was named one of the best places to work in healthcare by Modern Healthcare. In its sixth year, Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare Program recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry on a national level.

Inclusion in the “Best Places to Work” list is based on both employer and employee collected information. Employers complete a survey detailing company policies and practices, benefits, and demographics. Employees are then given the opportunity to confidentially respond to a survey analyzing eight areas of employee satisfaction: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall satisfaction.

CTGHS helps health organizations achieve clinical and financial goals through effective technology and business solutions. Over the last 25 years, the company has provided healthcare IT, and operational and strategic consulting support to more than 600 health organizations. Being designated a top employer reflects the unwavering focus of CTGHS executive leadership on establishing a culture that attracts in-demand, top-tier consultants and other employees in a very competitive market.

“In our business, having the highest caliber consultants and team members is absolutely essential to success,” said Ted Reynolds, Vice President, CTG Health Solutions. “Attracting and retaining professionals with unparalleled expertise in their field requires a positive work environment and opportunities for professional growth. We’re committed to continuously improving as an organization so that we have the best team members in the industry producing outstanding results for our clients.”

A sampling of CTGHS’ recruiting and retention initiatives over the past year includes:

Supported customized career development paths consisting of self-paced training and virtual training events. These ‘paths’ consist of business skills, technical skills, and professional development skills courses.

Continued its membership in the Direct Employers (DE) Association in order to use DE’s diversity offerings as part of the company’s recruiting best practices. Every CTG Health Solutions recruiter follows the CTG North American Recruiting Process that is ISO auditable and, as part of this process, every candidate applies and is considered for positions in exactly the same way.

Continued recruitment and retention of seasoned and experienced employees through flexible work schedules and locations, active recruiting of former employees, extensive training programs open to employees, and no mandatory retirement age.

Developed and supported a dynamic health IT thought leadership program supporting team members in authoring articles and blogs and presentation opportunities at local, state, and national trade organizations and in trade and national media.

Created opportunities for, and encouraged, employees to make a difference beyond the workplace through participation in CTGHS’s Holiday Military Recognition Program and community service initiatives such as the Habitat for Humanity and the United Way organization, and by encouraging employees to participate in CTGHS’ “Random Acts of Kindness” program. This program, suggested by an employee, focuses on giving back, even in small ways, to people, places and organizations in their communities. A newly built interactive website allows employees to share acts and ideas.

Encouraged healthy living and stress relief activities through activities such as participating in the National Walk at Lunch Day during which some employees started regular team walks or signed up for tracking systems to virtually support each other to live a healthier and more active lifestyle. Other team members have embraced applications and technology tracking systems such as My Fitness Pal, FitBit, and Jawbone Up to virtually support and encourage each other to get healthier and be more active.

Continued to identify and develop communication tools and practices in support of the company’s largely remote working environment including the bi-monthly employee-focused and developed enewsletter, a corporate-wide quarterly print and online newsletter, a Facebook page supporting team connections and sharing of both professional and personal news, and quarterly Town Hall Meetings that all employees are invited to attend.
