On Sunday Nov 10, 2013 the North Texas region’s largest Latino cultural festival – the 7th annual Fiesta Latinoamericana! – will be held inside and around the Automobile Building at Fair Park. This free family celebration presented by Home Depot offers dozens of exciting interactive ways to explore the cultures of the Americas. The event’s honorary chair is Dallas Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Monica Alonzo, and the festival will run from 10 am till 7 pm.
The event offers four stages of music and dance and a Children’s Discovery Center with hands-on workshops and mini lessons in regional dance and music. In addition, in Fiesta’s Cocina de la Abuela sixteen of DFW’s top Latino chefs will present cooking demos from their countries. Reviving ancient traditions, the Tortilleria and Piñata activities are hands-on workshops for youth and in the LatinoQuest game, children earn prizes for their savvy knowledge of the geography, food, and history of the Americas. Home Depot’s redecorating exhibits invite audience participation, while the Parade of Nations celebrates the American people and nations.
