DALLAS–A rolling interactive classroom sponsored by C-SPAN, the Cable Satellite Public Affairs Network, recently stopped at Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, giving students the opportunity to learn about the network’s role in educating the public about the U.S. political process.

A national touring bus equipped with a working television studio and social media lab, the C-SPAN vehicle is currently highlighting the series “First Ladies: Influence and Image,” which features the lives of first ladies from 44 administrations, examining their private lives and the public roles they played while in the White House.

After learning about what C-SPAN is and viewing a short piece from the series, students tested their knowledge with quizzes on the bus’ touch screen computers.

Eighth-grader Tione Goode enjoyed the experience, saying “I like C-SPAN; it’s always on, it never stops or even has commercials. And it’s cool how they travel around so we can learn about it.”

The C-SPAN Bus also visited Townview Magnet High School.
