International makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury was on hand to prep Violet Grey founder Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey for Oscar night. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look of Cassandra #gettingreadywithct.

Cassandra’s Oscars look was vintage inspired with a 1950s feel. There was a Warholian twist as we played the eyes and lips with a little pop of colour.” – Charlotte Tilbury

The skin was prepped using Charlotte’s Magic Cream (out Fall ’14) to create gorgeous youthful, dewy skin flooded with luminosity. WonderGlow (out Fall ’14) was applied all over the skin to create a soft focus effect, leaving the perfect canvas for makeup.

A thin layer of foundation was applied all over to even the skin tone, and concealer was applied in targeted areas to conceal and perfect the complexion.

Using a brow brush, the brows were brushed up to reveal the shape. MAC brow pencil in Lingering was used to fill in and shape Cassandra’s brows for a well groomed look.

The eyes were lined in an elongated, feline shape using Tom Ford eyeliner in Onyx on the top and bottom lash line. Using a q-tip and some Magic Cream, the liner was dragged out to create a pointed feline flick at the outer corners for added drama.

Charlotte Tilbury’s The Rebel eyeshadow palette (out Fall ’14) was applied onto the eyelid up to the socket line, blending out at the edges to mimic the feline shape created with the liner. The glittery pop shade was applied all over the lid to amp up the hypnotic feel of the look for a red carpet wow factor. Corner eyelashes were applied to add to the feline shape of the eye, and plenty of Tom Ford mascara in Raven was applied to finish the look.

Cassandra’s facial framework was sculpted and defined using Filmstar Bronze and Glow (out Fall ’14); the sculpt shade to contour along the jawline and under the cheekbones and the highlight shade to add a heavenly candlelight effect on the high points of the face.

MAC blusher in Fleur Power was applied to the apples of the cheeks for a flush of pink for a healthy glowing finish.

The lips were lined with Chanel Crayon Le Levres in Peche, and Chanel lipstick in Chalys was applied on top with a squared off lip brush to complete the look.

Tom Ford translucent powder was applied down the t zone to eliminate shine and to keep the makeup in place.
