Hamilton Park Celebrates 60-year Legacy

The Hamilton Park School will celebrate its 60th School-Wide Reunion from Friday, August 14 through Sunday, August 16.

On Friday night, there will be a Harlem Night’s Theme Party &  Mixer ‘All White attire’ with food, socializing, dancing, vendor marketplace, fashion show, karaoke, photo contest, photographs and prizes.  This event will be held at the Hilton Lincoln Centre (Reflections Conservatory Foyer) 5410 LBJ Freeway in Dallas.On Saturday evening, there will be a “Red Carpet” 60th Celebration Dinner/ Dance at the Hilton Lincoln Centre (Lincoln Ballroom) in Dallas. This event will include an elegant dinner, Swing Dancing, Line Dancing, Vendors, Prizes, Class Photos, Scholarships to Graduating Seniors / Youth Organizations and the Hamilton Park Wall of Fame inductions.

On Sunday morning, guests will attend the Greenville Avenue Church of Christ  in Richardson at 10:45 a.m.The Hamilton Park Community includes “many” great notables such as: the Dr. Robert E. Price Sr. Postal Center, the Willie B. Johnson Recreation Center, Historian – Donald Peyton of Freidman’s Memorial Cemetery, NFL Legends – Andre Tillman, Aundra “Boomy” Thompson, Carl “Spider” Lockhart, Everson “Cubby”  Walls, Faddie Tillman, Kevin Murphy, and their = youngest Legend – Terrel Harris 2012 NBA Championship Miami Heat winner. Fashion / Arts Icons include, Former Miss Texas & Talk Show Host – Nicole Barrett,  B.E.T.- Author / Editor / Writer – Erin Evans, Dallas Fashion Ambassador  / 2015 Raw Dallas competition winner- Gia R. McCloud aka Glam Honey Celebrity MUA, Quest for Success Honoree – Rita Morgan of Rita’s Couture,  Visual Artist – Luarkeisha Harper,  Professional Dancer – Ava Hanks, actors, lawyers, and many more.

Attendees will include Hamilton Park High School graduates, Hamilton Park Pacesetter Magnet (HPPM) former students, retired teachers, current faculty & staff, original homeowners from Hamilton Park, RISD Administrators, RISD Board Members, Texas Instruments Representatives, District 10 elected officials – community members / partners, and local area church families.

  1. When I was growing up there, there used to be a record store and all the Black performers would come in sign autographs. I wish I could remember the name of that record store. Does anyone know by any chance?
