Dallas Regional Chamber Proudly Announces ATHENA® Award Winners

“Congratulations to Maribess Miller and Lauren Mutti for being recognized with the 2015 ATHENA Awards. While both of these individuals have had great success in their own careers, they have also encouraged other women to strive for excellence,” said Pat Priest, COO and CFO for the Dallas Regional Chamber. “The Dallas Regional Chamber is proud to honor Maribess and Lauren for their professional accomplishments, community involvement, and their efforts in promoting women throughout our community.”

From 1984 to 2009, Ms. Miller was an audit partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2009, she was appointed to the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy where she has gained experience on the Executive and Rules committees and as Chair of the Behavior Enforcement Committee. Ms. Miller also works with Golden Seeds and Texas Women Ventures Fund, which have allowed women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses exponentially. In addition to her professional achievements, community involvement, and extensive experience serving on corporate boards, Ms. Miller has had a profound impact on the women around her. One of her nominators says that Ms. Miller’s leadership style is very inclusive, creative, and positive, which encourages those around her to step outside their comfort zones. Ms. Miller leads by example, recognizes the talent around her, and encourages other women to develop their leadership skills.

Ms. Mutti is a partner at Jackson Walker, LLP and focuses her practice on labor and employment matters. She is on the Board of Directors for The Family Place and for The Resource Center, where she serves on the Executive Committee. She is also on the National Leadership Council for Lambda Legal and is the Co-Chair for Lambda’s Dallas Leadership Committee. Ms. Mutti is passionate about promoting women in the workplace and serves as a member of Jackson Walker Women (jw2), an initiative dedicated to the attraction, retention, and promotion of women professionals. In addition, Ms. Mutti has been an official mentor for young women who are summer clerks at the firm and has organized a volunteer day for Jackson Walker’s women attorneys. Her leadership has been demonstrated through her professional accolades, community involvement, and outreach to women in the workplace.

The ATHENA Awards® have been presented during the Women’s Business Conference since 1995.

The 2015 ATHENA Award® is presented by Wells Fargo and the 2015 Young Professional Leadership Award is presented by KPMG.
