Remember Black Dallas honoring living legends

Remembering Black Dallas (RBD) shines a spotlight on those who have made a difference in the history of Dallas, now they are taking time to honor the living legends and help future trailblazers with their educaiton. On April 2 from 1 – 4 p.m. the organization is hosting its 1st Annual Scholarship and Honors Awards Banquet which will be held at the Thorntree Country Club, 825 W. Wintergreen Rd., in Desoto.

Honorees who have promoted and preserved Dallas’ African American History, heritage  and culture are:
Dr. Harry Robinson
Mr. Donald Payton
Dr. Alan B. Govenar
Mrs. Kaleta Doolin
Mr. Jesse James Arnold
Mrs. Frances James
Dr. Mamie McKnight
Mr. Bob Rigdon
Mrs. Sadye Gee (posthumously)
Mrs. Julia Jordan
