Sparks will fly at the City of Richardson’s “Family 4th Celebration” Monday, July 4, at Breckinridge Park, from 6-10:15 p.m. The annual event is free and attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and/or lawn chairs and enjoy an evening under the stars celebrating our nation’s independence.
Local teen rock sensation Griffin Tucker will perform at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Richardson Community Band’s Patriotic Salute Concert at 8:45 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m. Other attractions include strolling balloon artists, bounce houses, and a climbing wall for kids. Food concessions will be available on site.
Due to limited parking at Breckinridge Park, the City will provide free round-trip shuttle service starting at 6 p.m. at the Rockwell-Collins International Campus located at the southeast corner of Renner and Shiloh roads. The last shuttle prior to the fireworks show will depart from Rockwell-Collins at approximately 9:15 p.m. (Due to limited space, please bring only items that you can carry and place on your lap while riding the shuttle. Pets are not allowed on the shuttles, only service dogs.)
