As Hillary Clinton continues the race for President of the U.S, Donald Trump makes a detour to Cleveland, Ohio for the Republican National Convention. The point of the convention is for the delegates to officially select Donald Trump as the official Republican candidate who’s running for President of the U.S.

The convention started on July 18 and it’s already stirring up a storm. Trump’s presidential campaign is being charged accusations of plagiarism, saying the speech his wife Melania Trump gave opening night included portions of the speech given by Michelle Obama in 2008.

According to MSN, here is an excerpt from the future First Lady Michelle Obama’s speech back in 2008.

And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them.”

“And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and to pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children- and all children in this nation- to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”

MSN, also gave an excerpt from Melania Trump’s speech given at the Republican National convention on July 18.

“From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect.”

“They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily lives. That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow. Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”

Trump’s team denies the allegation of the plagiarized speech.

MSN reported, that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and the head of Trump’s White House transition team, appeared on NBC’s “Today” on July 19 and admited that perhaps there were some small similarities but they calim it is just a fraction of the speech.

Christie said, “93 percent of the speech is completely different than Michelle Obama’s speech.”

MSN also reported Melania Trump told NBC’s Matt Lauer before the speech, “I wrote the speech with little help as possible.”

Donald Trump’s communications adviser had positive things to say about Melania’s speech.

“In writing her beautiful speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking,” shared Jason Miller. “Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through her speech, which made it such a success.”

The Chairman of the Republican National Committee, had a few words in regards to the allegations of the plagiarized speech.

“I don’t blame Melania,” shared RNC Chair Reince Priebus. “Some of the things in the speech are pretty common types of themes.”

Online the debate continues and opinions are likely shaded by political preferences.
