Safe Conversations relaunches as Relationships First

relationships-first-logo(PRNewswire) On the heels of the most controversial presidential election in history, Dallas has emerged as the epicenter of a movement where “Safe Conversations” are being held in every corner of the city. Relationships First this week announced its relaunch of its 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering the Safe Conversations relational technology to help people connect with one another and in doing so create better relationships, better lives and an overall better world.

Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D. are the two visionaries behind this movement. They have authored three New York Times Best Sellers, and Dr. Hendrix has appeared 17 times on Oprah as a special guest contributor. This dynamic husband-and-wife team assert that people must be taught conversational skills that help them connect beyond their differences and put relationships first.

According to Dr. Hendrix and Dr. Hunt, “Our mission is to disseminate a new relational science – getting it out of the clinic and into the public. This technology helps people shift from conflict to connection, from winning to creating win-wins.”

“This issue impacts every single person on the planet,” Dr. Hendrix and Dr. Hunt continued. “Its value and power is not limited to the family, but is relevant to all human ecosystems. Everyone needs to learn to live with, understand and accept difference, since difference is the only thing there is. Relationships First is poised to give everyone tools and strategies that make them feel safe and valued, even if they disagree.”

The vision of this non-profit organization is to inspire a revolution that will help individuals thrive in all aspects of their lives. To achieve this vision, Relationships First will be accelerating the spread of Safe Conversations with the ultimate goal of restructuring all social institutions into a relational civilization.

“In light of the recent political and social climate, the stage is set for us to create profound social interactions,” said Alyce Alston, CEO of Relationships First. “Society is hungry for ways to connect with each other, and we are thrilled to expand our events and training to other groups of individuals as well as communities that are in need of improved relational dialogue.”

Relationships First will once again host its annual February event, which is specifically designed for couples and families, and will launch a new line of products in January of 2017 that will offer both online and offline training and resources. These products will be designed for families, first responders and law enforcement as well as veterans.

What started about three decades ago as a highly successful form of relationship and couple’s therapy, this flourishing nonprofit allows Dr. Hendrix and Dr. Hunt to unleash a simple, but effective, new relational technology that is catalyzing a national, healthy relationship movement. This endows Relationships First with a unique credibility that belongs to no one else.
