Part-time census workers can maintain their SNAP benefits

In December, pay rates increased across the nation and all part-time applicants will be able to maintain their federal benefits and assistance such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Medicaid (non-MAGI) while working for the census. Positions offer competitive pay, flexible hours, paid training and weekly paychecks.

Paid training will occur in March and April for the 2020 team. The actual enumeration of non-responding households throughout the nation begins in May through early July.

The census is the largest peacetime deployment of civil servants across the country. The census officially begins on April 1, 2020, and for the first time ever, it will have an online option, as well as a phone option, which will make filling out the form easy, safe and secure.
