Buckeyes and Hurricanes Unite for Cotton Bowl Community Service Project

The Ohio State and Miami will set rivalry aside for a North Texas service effort.
The collaboration happens ahead of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year’s Eve.

Volunteers from both universities will serve at the North Texas Food Bank.
Participants must register through their schools because walk-ins cannot be accommodated. Students will sort and pack nutritious food for regional distribution.

The impact extends far beyond a single volunteer shift.
The food supports more than 744,000 North Texans facing food insecurity.
Families children and seniors receive assistance through hundreds of partner pantries.

Therefore, the service project continues a long-standing Ohio State tradition.
The university has organized bowl-related service projects since the 1998 Sugar Bowl.
This marks the twenty-sixth host-city service initiative.

Finally, the event takes place Tuesday Dec. 30 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Central.
Volunteers will gather at the North Texas Food Bank in Plano.
Representatives from both schools and NTFB will oversee operations on site.
