The Alpha Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. hosted its Annual Scholarship Program and Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center in Allen, Texas. The event brought together fraternity brothers, families, community partners, and scholarship recipients for a morning dedicated to celebrating academic excellence and the transformative power of education.
Under the leadership of Scholarship Chair Bro. Robert Hamilton, the chapter continued its longstanding commitment to supporting college‑bound students through meaningful financial awards. Each year, the North Dallas Ques honor high‑achieving high school seniors who embody the fraternity Cardinal Principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. Recipients are evaluated on academic performance, extracurricular involvement, community service, leadership potential, and financial need.
This year, the scholarship committee recognized three exceptional students with some of the chapter’s highest individual scholarship honors:
• Jalen Matthews – Frisco Memorial High School graduate, awarded $9,000; will attend North Carolina A&T State University.
• Sydney Elliott – Wylie East High School graduate awarded $3,000; will attend Texas Tech University.
• Austin Hughes – Marcus High School (Flower Mound) graduate awarded $5,000; will attend Oklahoma State University.
As part of the application process, students submitted essays reflecting on their personal journeys, perspectives on current events, and visions for leadership. They were also asked to articulate how they plan to use their future success to uplift their communities — a core value of Omega Psi Phi.
The scholarship committee expressed deep pride in this year’s honorees and confidence in their continued success. The Annual Scholarship Program remains a cornerstone of Alpha Iota Iota’s mission to empower young people through education, mentorship, and opportunity. By investing in the next generation of leaders, the chapter continues its legacy of service and uplift throughout North Dallas.
