Congratulations, Class of 2026

Last month, across Dallas ISD, we ended the school year by celebrating one of the most anticipated milestones for our high school seniors: graduation. The education and experiences our graduates gained will serve as a strong foundation for their future beyond Dallas ISD.
Parents, families, teachers, and community members, thank you for being the support system that uplifts our students each day.

Michelle Obama once said, “Becoming isn’t about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn’t end.”

These words remind us that education is a lifelong journey. As our graduates enter the next stage in their lives, they will continue to grow, discover new opportunities and take on new challenges with confidence, thanks to the years they have spent in Dallas ISD.

At this year’s State of the District, Dallas ISD recognized outstanding teachers and campus leaders through the annual Teacher and Principal of the Year awards.

Arial Kossie, one of our District 6 educators, was highlighted for her inspiring story as a Dallas ISD alum. From attending prekindergarten at Jimmie Tyler Brashear Elementary School to returning to the campus as a music teacher, Kossie, who is in her 13th year of teaching, is now guiding the next generation of students in the community she proudly calls home.

Brashear is an outstanding B-rated campus that provides students with a nurturing learning environment while preparing them for academic success beyond elementary school. Thank you to all Brashear teachers for your continued commitment to preparing the future leaders of our community.

I began the school year by visiting campuses across District 6, and I am proud to end it knowing every school is filled with educators who care deeply about our students.

Teachers, your impact on students this year has been tremendous. Enjoy your summer break, and know that next school year, we will continue the traditions of excellence that have helped our students succeed.

Families, summer in Dallas ISD is always filled with excitement. Through Summer Cool 2026, students are participating in engaging activities in reading and math instruction and extracurricular programs.
