American Red Cross, Frisco RoughRiders to Host Three-Day Blood Drive

The American Red Cross North Texas Region and the Frisco RoughRiders are teaming up to encourage blood donations during the summer, when collections traditionally decline and demand remains steady.

The organizations will host a three-day blood drive July 7-9 at Riders Field in Frisco. Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day inside the stadium’s Bullpen Bar, located at 7300 RoughRiders Trail.

Red Cross officials say summer is one of the most difficult times of the year to maintain an adequate blood supply because vacations, school breaks and severe weather often lead to fewer donor appointments. The organization has recently experienced a decline in scheduled donations and is urging donors of all blood types to give.

“We’re excited to partner with the Frisco RoughRiders to rally the community around this lifesaving cause,” Linda Braddy, CEO of the American Red Cross North Texas Region, said in a statement. “A single blood donation can help save more than one life, and it’s a meaningful way for neighbors to support patients in need across the country.”

The Red Cross notes that blood cannot be manufactured or stockpiled and must come from volunteer donors. Hospitals rely on a consistent supply of donated blood to treat patients undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, trauma care and other medical emergencies.

As an incentive, donors who give blood during the July 7-9 event will receive two vouchers, each redeemable for one ticket to a 2026 Frisco RoughRiders home game, while supplies last.

In addition, everyone who donates blood at participating Red Cross drives between June 29 and July 12 will receive a limited-edition Red Cross and Looney Tunes T-shirt, while supplies last.

Appointments are encouraged and may be scheduled through the Red Cross blood donation website using the sponsor code “roughriders.”

The American Red Cross supplies approximately 40% of the nation’s blood and blood components while also providing disaster relief, emergency assistance, health and safety training, international humanitarian aid, and services to members of the military, veterans and their families.
