SPCA Pet of the Week – Tyson

There’s something about an older dog that can reach straight into your heart. Maybe it’s the gentle wisdom in their eyes. Maybe it’s the way they seem to appreciate every kind word, every soft touch and every moment spent together. Or maybe it’s simply knowing that a sweet soul like Tyson deserves to spend his golden years surrounded by love.

At 8 years old and 51 pounds, Tyson is a handsome Terrier mix gentleman with a beautiful orange coat, a distinguished white muzzle and the deepest, most loving eyes. Look into those eyes and you may find yourself wondering how anyone could resist this sweet fella.

Tyson is new to the Dallas Animal Care Center, so his friends are still getting to know all the wonderful things that make him who he is. But there’s one thing they already know for sure: Tyson loves attention.

He’s friendly, curious and sweet-natured, and Tyson’s ready to meet the people who might become his family. Imagine the joy on his face when someone walks up just to say hello. Imagine those soulful eyes looking up at you as he realizes he has found someone who wants to spend time with him.

Tyson (SPCA of Texas)

For a dog like Tyson, those simple moments mean everything.

Tyson isn’t asking for much. He needs someone willing to see the beautiful soul behind the white muzzle. Someone who understands that love doesn’t have an expiration date. Someone who will give Tyson a soft place to land, a cozy spot to rest and the reassurance that he is finally where he belongs.

In return, Tyson promises to bring his gentle companionship, his sweet personality and all the love he has been saving just for you.

As an SPCA of Texas Senior Sweetheart—a pet age six or older—Tyson’s adoption fee is FREE, which means there’s no reason to wait!

His face may show a little of the wisdom he has gathered over the years, but his heart is still ready for new beginnings. Please don’t let this sweet older gentleman spend another day waiting for the family he so deserves.

Come meet Tyson any day of the week from Noon to 6 p.m., at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Dr, Dallas, 75212). Tyson has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on his vaccines. Give this beautiful boy a chance, and you may discover that one of the greatest gifts you can give is also one of the greatest gifts you can receive: the love of a dog who simply wants to be loved by you.
