Beyonce aka Mrs. Carter coming to Dallas on July 6 and Rock in Rio in September

By Ruth Ferguson, NDG Editor

There can be no doubt that 2013 is the year of Beyonce – or Mrs. Carter as she appears to prefer for her upcoming international concert tour. Last week she sang, albeit not live, at the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. Last night her Super Bowl halftime performance was so electrifying it appeared to shut down half the stadium’s electricity and she is rumored to be on the list of performers at next Sunday’s Grammy Awards. Now the Beyonce PR team strategically released details of her first concert tour in three years.

The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour kicks off in Europe this Spring on April 15 in Belgrade, Serbia and features two shows in Paris because after all who does not love Spring in Paris right? It appears Mrs. Carter has a lot of fans in London enough to warrant four shows at the London O2.

It is unclear if Beyonce plans a Latin America tour but she is also now the confirmed headliner at the Rock in Rio fest on Sept. 13 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rock in Rio festival is seven days of music this year and will be the 10th year since 1985. Rock in Rio alternates between Brazil, Portugal, Spain and Argentina. Hailed as one of the largest concert events in the world when it kicked off January 11- 20, 1985 where a reported 1.4 million attended and over 200 million watching broadcasted Queen performances in 60 countries that first year.

Over the years, opening acts have included Prince, Sting, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Shakira, and Elton John. This year Bruce Springsteen and John Mayer are scheduled to perform on Sunday, September 15.
