Councilwoman Delia Jasso partners with Dallas Police to host “Coffee with Cops” in Oak Cliff

Councilman Delia Jasso

Councilwoman Delia Jasso and the Dallas Police Department will launch a new community engagement program named, “Coffee with Cops” in Oak Cliff. On Saturday, April 6 from 8 – 10 a.m., Dallas police officers and neighborhood patrol officers will meet with patrons visiting McDonald’s on Jefferson Boulevard, and McDonald’s will provide free cups of coffee.

Councilwoman Jasso approached Chief David Brown about leveraging a successful program with the vision of having police officers and residents meeting in a casual setting, simply to begin dialogue and building rapport in the community. Councilwoman Jasso states, “I hope this program builds good relationships between the neighborhood patrol officers working in District 1 and residents who live here, and I think this program will be a good model for implementing it throughout the city.”

The event is going to be held at the McDonald’s located at 705 W. Jefferson Blvd, in Dallas.
