Local students explore STEM education at free Samsung Mobile App Academy

20130731_121121The Samsung Mobile App Academies continued in Dallas this week. Thirty local high school students, representing 15 Dallas area schools attended the two-day mobile application academies which will encourage education in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and careers in technology related fields.

During the event, being held in six cities this summer, students will have access to thought leaders in mobile technology and application development as well as web entrepreneurs so they can learn first-hand about the latest developments in mobile technology. Once completing the Samsung Mobile App Academy the 11th and 12th grade students will have the opportunity to win scholarships for college by coming up with their own idea for a mobile app.
