The holy month of Ramadan is a very special time for Muslims. It is a time of devotion, prayers, worship, and fasting. The task of fasting from dawn to sunset helps Muslims strengthen their relationship with God and themselves, while increasing generosity, spirituality, and self-reflection, all of which are major components of Ramadan.

With the goal of bringing our community together and celebrating the month of Ramadan, YMX is holding an iftar for the entire community. YMX is a youth group with members from all over the Dallas area. Working together to make our community astounding, YMX works with representatives from local Dallas schools, along with the public, on projects aimed improve.
Iftar is the breaking of the day long fast at sundown. Generally, the fast is broken with a date, a glass of water or other refreshing drink, and a small appetizer. After the fast is broken, it is followed by the Maghrib Prayer and then the main meal.
The community iftar will be held in Centennial Park in Irving, Texas on July 5, 2015. The fast will be broken at the time of the Maghrib prayer (sundown). Everyone is invited to this community event and YMX encourages all to bring friends and family. This is a free event and fun for all.
