NTMWD conducting annual water test

waterPlano’s water supplier, the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD), will perform annual chlorine maintenance on transmission and distribution systems from March 7 through April 4. You may notice a shift in the taste or smell of your drinking water.

Chlorine maintenance does not affect water quality and water remains safe. We will be opening hydrants and flushing our lines in some areas during this 28-day period to get the maximum benefit of the maintenance. This process helps to keep our chloramine residuals in check with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements.

Learn more about chlorine maintenance on the NTMWD website.
