Weigh in scheduled for Dallas boxers in title bouts

(NDG Wire) Two Dallas boxers will meet their challengers and the media at a weigh-in scheduled for Thursday April 29, 2010.  The media weigh-in will feature Charles ‘The Future’ Hatley of Dallas and opponent Marcos Primera of Asheboro, North Carolina for the super welterweight Texas title; as well as Larry ‘Slomoshun’ Smith of Dallas and Eloy Suarez of Mexico who will square off in the middleweight Texas contest.  The Media Weigh-in will be held at Hooters, 2201 N. Lamar in downtown Dallas at 1:00pm.
 
The six bout card boxing line-up will be center ring on Friday April 30, 2010 at The Palladium @ Gilley’s 1135 S. Lamar in Dallas at 7:00pm. 
 
This is the first professional state title championship contest for both Dallas boxers.
Charles Hatley has a professional record of 10-0 (9 KO’s) going into this super welterweight match. Marcos Primera has a record of 20-20-2 (13 KO’s).  This is Larry Smith’s tenth professional match. He has a pro record of 8-1 (6 KO’s). Eloy Suarez record is 11-8 (5 KO’s)
 
Other boxers on the bout card include Dallas resident Christian ‘Angel’ Faz of Dallas who has a 0-1 record. Faz will be in a lightweight contest against Omar Gonzalez 2-3. Greg ‘The Technician’ Hatley Jr. making his pro debut in a light heavyweight match. He made it to the semi-finals of the Olympic trials in 2004.  The announcer Roland Gamez is an amateur boxing official and a former Dallas Fire Department assistant chief who has a passion for the game. 
 
Both Hatley brothers and Smith are being trained by Greg Hatley Sr.; president of Black Gloves Promotions which is promoting the event. Black Gloves Promotions is donating ten percent of the proceeds to the Oak Cliff Boys and Girls Club. Club Director, Lois Cross says the money will be used for the Keystone Club program. “It is good to see when alumni appreciate what the club has done and give back.”
 
The determination of the Hatley boxers in pursuing Olympic gold was documented by Dallas filmmaker Chris Howell over a seven year period. The film “Sweet Science” had its world premiere Monday night April 13, 2010 at the Dallas International Film Festival. The film festival audience rated the film second in the documentary category.
