Eminem scores Grammy nominations in top 3 categories

Rapper Eminem earned Grammy nominations for album, record and song of the year. Love The Way You Lie, his collaboration with Rihanna, a single from the critically acclaimed Recovery earned top nods when the awards were announced on Wednesday.

Along with Eminem, album of the year nominees includes The Suburbs by Arcade Fire, Need You Now by Lady Antebellum, The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga and Teenage Dream by Katy Perry.

Eminem is also nominated in four of the five rap categories, including twice in the best rap song category for Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie.

Drake and teen sensation Justin Bieber earned best new artist nominations, while the Jay-Z, Alicia Keys collaboration Empire State of Mind earned nominations for record of the year and best rap/sung collaboration.

Dallas native Norah Jones earned a Grammy nod in the best female pop vocal performance for her song Chasing Pirates. Beyonce was also nominated in this category for her live rendition of Halo. Michael Jackson was posthumously nominated for best male pop vocal performance for This Is It.

Fantasia and John Legend & The Roots dominated R&B nominations. The former American Idol winner earned accolades for best R&B song and best female R&B vocal performance with Bittersweet and best R&B album with Back to Me. Legend & The Roots were recognized for Shine and their remake of the Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes classic Wake Up!. The inspiration song was nominated for best R&B album.

Usher, R. Kelly, Monica, Sade, Kem, El DeBarge, Jaheim and Chris Brown were among other acts nominated in R&B categories.
