‘Black Widow’ coming to Dallas

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – One of the world’s “sexiest female athletes” is coming to Dallas. Jeanette Lee, better known by many as the Black Widow, will make an appearance at Lone Star Legends in Dallas on Wednesday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the APA Black Widow Tour.

Lee was named one of the “sexiest female athletes” in the world by ESPN, and was recently featured in ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue. She’s also appeared on the Best Damn Sports Show, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Hard Copy, HBO Real Sports, Today, The Late Show with David Letterman and Live with Regis & Kelly.

The APA Black Widow Tour is sponsored by the American Poolplayers Association (APA) and aims to get people interested in participating in the sport of pool.

Additional tour stops include: Chicago, Miami, New York City, Memphis, Las Vegas, Toronto, Seattle and three cities yet to be announced.

Fans will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the Black Widow as she performs trick shots, signs autographs and even plays a few brave challengers in a game of pool. Admission is free and open to the public.

Lee is the official spokesperson for the American Poolplayers Association (APA) and encourages people of any age and athletic background to participate in the sport of pool through APA Leagues.

“APA Pool Leagues are a great way for people who may have never played the game to get involved in the sport. The great thing about pool is that anyone can participate, regardless of age, gender or athletic ability,” said Jeanette Lee.

APA Pool Leagues utilize a handicap scoring system – similar to golf or bowling – that allows people of all skill levels to compete equally.

The APA, based in Lake Saint Louis, Mo., sanctions the world’s largest amateur pool league, known as the APA Pool League throughout the United States, and as the Canadian Pool League in Canada. More than 270,000 members compete in weekly 8-Ball and 9-Ball league play. The APA is generally recognized as the Governing Body of Amateur Pool, having established the official rules, championships, formats and handicap systems for the sport of amateur billiards.

The APA produces three major tournaments each year – the APA National Team Championships, the APA National Singles Championships and the U.S. Amateur Championship – that, together, pay out nearly $1.5 million in cash and prizes annually!

The APA and its championships are sponsored by Aramith, PoolDawg and Action Cues.
