The New Orleans Superdome was the place to be for black music enthusiasts this past weekend as the Essence Music Festival arrived in the Crescent City. Chaka Kahn was one of the many acts to participate. Talent aside, but it is strange how some people decide to testify their problems – and who they testify to. On Saturday, during a high-energy jam that included I Feel For You, Through the Fire, I’m Every Woman and Ain’t Nobody, the legendary singer admitted to the crowd that she had a drug addiction and that she has been clean for seven years. How random. She said before singing Angel, “This next song is a song I wrote but I don’t remember writing it because I was high.” Great for Chaka for being upfront and honest about her past ills with her adoring fans.
Emotional roller coaster
Just when you think the world of Terrell Owens could not get any shakier, it does. Since we last spoke, the Pro Bowl wide receiver has encountered knee surgery and some baby support issues. His baby momma recently filed papers in an Atlanta court seeking to hold the player in contempt after he stopped paying the full amount of child support – five grand a month – for their child. Well dang T.O.! You know you just cannot stop paying child support. Obviously your financial advisors have no clue if they told you to do that. When it comes to kids, baby mommas and the court, whateva personal issues you got going on NFL lockout, surgery, free agent status, etc., etc., etc. don’t matter.
Hatin’ the kids?
Well, well, well. I was wondering when the realities of rearing 14 kids alone would hit that nutcase Octomom Nadya Suleman. Straight From The A.com reported June 30 that the unemployed mom said she hates every one of her kids. Suleman said, “I hate the babies, they disgust me! My older six are animals, getting more and more out of control, because I have no time to properly discipline them.” Uh, no time? They actin’ disorderly because you ain’t got your stuff together. I have always said no woman in her right might would want to be a single mother of 14 kids. Suleman needs help. Better yet, those kids need help.OMG! Call Child Protective Services on this woman before she harms those kids.
