Oprah comes to town
The stars were out this past weekend at the AMC Theatre at NorthPark Mall in Dallas, as Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry hosted a private screening for the upcoming movie chronicling the Tuskegee Airmen, Red Tails. Attendees included Red Tails stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrance Howard, Ne-Yo, Elijah Kelly, and the movie’s producer, Anthony Hemingway. For those of you who don’t know (shame on you if you don’t), the Tuskegee airmen were a group of African American fighter pilots who battled racism from the United States military to gain the right to fight for their country during World War II. The movie will be released nationwide Jan. 20, 2012.
By the way, while Oprah was in Dallas, she made a stop at The Potter’s House for some Sunday inspiration.

I hope football hall of famer Deion Sanders does not starting acting a fool again about his wife, Pilar Sanders, getting media attention. While she is no longer on Football Wives, she is definitely not shying away from letting the world see her face – and more. Maybe Pilar had to get her husband’s “permission” to take part in a photo shoot for WSJ magazine. For all you ladies working y’all butts off to look good, all you can do is roll your eyes at Pilar. And this woman had three children? He stomach shows no signs of it. Gossip mills report Pilar completed the photo spread as a promotion for upcoming reality television appearances. Glad to see that Pilar and Deion came to an agreement about this.

The nominees for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards were announced Nov. 30, and Kanye West was the top nominee with seven. Instead of showing pride for the accolade, ever the perfectionist Kanye took jabs at himself for not being nominated for the top two awards, album of the year and record of the year. West said it was his fault for releasing Watch the Throne and Dark Fantasy during the same year. No matter what the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences say, Kanye is still the man!
