Sunday Best contestant pregnant out of wedlock

A contestant on Season 3 of Sunday Best  is in fact pregnant out of wedlock. Rumors began to float on social media after viewers noticed a little baby bump by the contestant on BET’s Celebration of Gospel.

Le’Andria Johnson confirmed in an online statement that she is pregnant. Johnson, 29 is a single mother of three.

Read her statement below:

“In recent weeks, there have been numerous published reports stating that I am pregnant. I would like to take this time to confirm that I am pregnant and due in September. I have been feeling well and maintaining a healthy appetite. I have been busy traveling around the country with my music ministry. One can only imagine that as a mother and mother-to-be, my plate is quite full—taking the kids to school, doing homework, cooking—regular mother duties. I have been blessed to have the love and support of my church, family, friends, label, management, and fans. I have received so many beautiful and thoughtful notes and prayers from people all over the country. I ask that you continue to pray for me and my family. I cannot do this alone. I will continue to pray for God’s guidance and protection over my life. I love you all very much and I will be in touch soon.”   –

First, let me say that I am not judging. I am a single mom myself. But I do want to ask the question: Can you be a successful gospel singer after becoming pregnant out of wedlock a fourth time?

  1. I do believe LeAndria can be a successful gospel singer even after all the pregnancies and everything she has been through. Her testamony will be much stronger. I believe God has a work for her an is working a perfect work in her. I also believe that satan has looking in her future and knows the great work and is trying to stop it before it begins. “No weapon formed against her will prosper.”

  2. I believe that leandria can and will become a successful gospel artist in spit of the adversity she is now facing. Even though i love the fact that she is singing for the LORD, i feel that she would soar to platinum status if she were mainstream. Only for the fact that now days not many people support gospel artists even before adversity strikes, and she to me is one of the best artists out right now, including mainstream artists!!! Anyway i feel that ms leandria is appointed for this here season. I will continue to support her by purchasing her albums etc. For me its not even about her, its about the GOD in her that deals with me each and everytime she opens her mouth. That’s why I’m a fan. In spite of everything going on in her life, no one should be able to deny the anointing that she has on her life. Btw this is her first pregnancy outside of wedlock!!!!.

  3. I think this says it all….When God looks for someone to use, He doesn’t look for someone who has a perfect performance but one who has a right heart toward Him. ~ Joyce Meyer

  4. I think she should first repent. Then be a voice for abstinence, this would show that the standard that God has set is still the prevailing order of the day. Her success is not predicated on her mistakes. However, her representation of His standard must be the success that she and we should desire.

Does this condemn her, no! But, repentance is the required motion, then we would be supporting from the proper position as believers.

What gives me the right to makes this comment? I have a child out of wedlock myself.
