Dallas County Democratic Party’s Jefferson/Jackson Dinner Wrap-up

The Jefferson/Jackson Sixth Annual Dinner was a lovely affair enjoyed by Democratic Party supporters from Dallas and surrounding cities. The guests included our own Thurman R. Jones, Publisher of the North Dallas Gazette, Congressional District candidate Domingo Garcia, Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez, Peter Johnson, and the legendary civil rights activist Dr. Rev. Joseph Lowery and his wife Evelyn. Dr. Lowery delivered the benediction at the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

Among other attendees were Inez Clark, Captain Claude Platte with wife Erma, Darlene Ewing, Shirley Layton, Judge Andrea Plumlee, Dallas County Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia who is the wife of Domingo Garcia, Curtis King, Judge Lorraine Raggio, Andrea Collins, Judge Julia Hayes, and Karl Banks of KHVN radio. Donna Brazile from CNN’s The Situation Room was the keynote speaker at this reception. The festivities included an award to Hon. Darlene Ewing, Dallas Democratic Party Chair.
