State youth theater conference set for June 6-10 at MCL Grand

Texas Nonprofit Theatres will hold its 17th annual Youth Conference June 6-10 at Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street, featuring live performances by 12 youth theater companies from across Texas.

The conference also will feature conference workshops and social events for youth theater members and supporters.

All 40-minute performances are open to the public. Shows will be held Thursday evening, Friday afternoon and evening, and Saturday afternoon and evening in blocks of two or three shows. An awards ceremony will be held Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Tickets will be available at the door each day. Cost is $10 for two-performance blocks and $15 for three-performance blocks. For information, please call Texas Nonprofit Theatres at 817.731.2238 or send email to texastheatres@sbcglobal.net

Thursday’s performances are:

  • 7 p.m. – E.L.F.S. Touring Troupe from S.T.A.G.E.  Inc. (Bulverde), “S.W.A.K.”
  • 8:15 p.m. – BCT Teen Troupe from Boerne Community Theatre (Boerne), “Star Wars: A Musical Parody.”
  • * 9:30 p.m. – ArtsView Players from ArtsView Children’s Theatre (Longview), “Booby Trap.”

Friday’s performances are:

  • 2 p.m. – BLTeens from Baytown Little Theater (Baytown), “Starmites Lite.”
  • 3:15 p.m. – The Inner Circle from Circle Arts Theatre (New Braunfels), “Peter Pan: The Musical.”
  • * 4:30 p.m. – Y.O.U.T.H. from Brazos Valley Troupe (Bryan-College Station), “15 Reasons Not To Be In A Play.”
  • 7 p.m. – Jr. Masterclass from Ohlook Performing Arts Center (Grapevine), “The Real Story of Little Red Riding Hood.”
  • * 8:15 p.m. – Young Actors Guild (McKinney), “Tick Talk.”

Saturday’s performances are:

  • 2 p.m. – LifeStage Players of LifeStage Theatre Productions (Grapevine), “How To Eat Like a Child.”
  • * 4:30 p.m. – Kaleidoscope Company of Permian Playhouse (Odessa), “What I Want To Say But Never Will.”
  • 7 p.m. – Act Up! From Bastrop Opera House (Bastrop), “The Wolf and Its Shadows.”
  • 9:15 p.m. – Masterclass from Ohlook Performing Arts Center (Grapevine), “The Pirates of Penzance.”
