So Spain magazine sees FL Michelle Obama as a half nude slave?

The August 2012 cover image of Magazine Fuera de Serie which is a magazine in Span has raised eyebrows with the image of First Lady Michelle Obama depicted in a painting as a slave woman with an exposed breast. The image is a takeoff of a 200 year French painting of an African slave. It is also a part of other images in a series “nudes” created by the artist which includes Presidents Obama and Abraham Lincoln, as well as Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth.

“The magazine cover for the feature article “Michelle Tataranieta De Esclava, Dueña De América” (Michelle Granddaughter of a Slave, Lady of America) is the brainchild of white French/English fine artist Karine Percheron-Daniels.  Her mixed-media portrait superimposes Obama’s head onto the famous art-historical body of an African Guadeloupean female slave painted by French artist Marie-Guilhelmine Benoist in 1800.”

So is it art or is it offensive to you?
