42nd Street is set in 1933 and is written as a show within a show. It reveals an exciting behind the scenes experience of creating a Broadway production that ends up being a hit.  42nd Street follows the journey of star-struck chorus girl Peggy Sawyer as she tries to make her mark in show business.  It is a timeless tale of dedication, hard work, talent and being in the right place at the right time.  And of course there is also a love story.  Set during the Great Depression, 42nd Street is filled with fabulous tapping and famous musical numbers, including “We’re in the Money,” “You’re Getting to Be a Habit with Me,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” and the title song.  This musical won a Tony Award for its original 1980 production and continues to thrill audiences today.
