DALLAS — Students from across the Dallas Independent School District are mobilizing to support the students, parents, staff and community of West, Texas, with a number of outreach efforts.

W.T. White High School students joined with Carter BloodCare in an effort to replenish the blood banks as the relief efforts in West continue. Carter BloodCare mobiles were at the campus as students, staff and community members stepped up to help out.

West ISD’s Superintendent Marty Crawford is a former Hillcrest High School principal. Hillcrest High School is organizing a school supply drive to collect items to send to the students in West ISD. Suggested supplies include pencils, pens, paper, and binders. Donations will be taken at the school starting April 22 – May 3.  They also are accepting gift cards and monetary donations to be used in the relief efforts as well. Checks should be made out to Point West Bank West ISD Disaster Fund.

Also, Irving ISD is collecting monetary donations to be delivered to West ISD in an effort to help the district with anything it may need as it recovers and rebuilds following last week’s tragedy.

This donation campaign will be conducted at every Irving ISD campus. Students, staff, parents, community members and businesses are welcome to come into any of our facilities and pledge any amount of money toward this effort.  All of the dollars collected will be deposited into one Irving ISD account and a check for the full amount will be presented to West ISD.
