Dallas student wins DART poster contest

An eighth grader is this year’s Best of Show Winner in Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s (DART) 2013 transit-themed student poster contest.

Jonathan Mondragon, from Sam Tasby Middle School, won a cash prize of $1,000 and will have his artwork displayed through the summer on the side of DART buses and the DART.org website.

A total of 722 entries from 77 schools grades kindergarten through 12 participated in this year’s contest with the theme: DART: Your Adventure Awaits.

In addition to the Best of Show Winner, first place winners were chosen from each grade and 27 received recognition in the first, second, third place and honorable mention categories.

First place winners from kindergarten through fifth grade will receive a Radio Disney presentation for their class along with a $50 cash prize. A $100 prize goes to the middle school winners and $200 to high school winners.
