The city of Dallas will be hosting their annual Juneteenth event, a fun-filled family festival from noon to 5 p.m on June 19 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, 2922 MLK Jr. Blvd. This free event will feature City department information booths, games, food, vendors, live music from local artists, and live broadcasts.
“This is an important event that brings the Dallas community together to commemorate this important moment in our nation’s history,” said Patrick N. Jackson, MLK Jr. Community Center Manager. Juneteenth marks the anniversary of when Texas slaves learned they had been emancipated back in 1865.
Businesses who are interested in securing a booth at the event should contact Latrica Hicks at (214) 670-8998.
