Jay-Z speaks out on Harry Belafonte comment on new album

Jay-Z-responds-to-Harry-Belafonte-in-a-song-on-Magan-Carta-Holy-Grail.-300x253Nearly a year ago, Harry Belafonte publicly criticized Jay-Z and his superstar wife Beyoncé because they’ve “turned their back on social responsibility.”

Beyoncé’s camp responded to the criticism almost immediately with an “abbreviated list of the unselfish work Beyoncé has done and continues to do.” The list included a $100K donation made in 2008. The singer’s husband, Jay-Z, was noticeably quiet following the criticism — until now.

  1. …I have little respect for rich narcistic rappers who have little knowledge of history and scant respect for those who paved the road for them. Most former dope dealers (like jz) deserve most of the criticism that they get. However, he can always turn over a new leaf and become a better freedom fighter than Belafonte is (currently)…I won’t hold my breath waiting for this leaf…

  2. Two wrongs don’t make a right. i believe in having respect for my elders. Why is it tough love win african american history legend displays the same behavior? Mr. Belafonte should’ve more wisdom when addressing another black man and his wife regarding their social morals. Mr. Carter is a man just as well as Mr. Belafonte is….Leads me to believe Mr. Belafonte word wasn’t directed for inspiration, but only venom demoralize another black man and his family.
