The McKinney Chamber of Commerce will host their annual Business and Education New Teacher Welcome Breakfast presented by Medical Center of McKinney on Aug.14. Special Guest and McKinney High Alum Johnny Quinn will talk about the impact that McKinney’s school district made on his life.
Each year, the business community joins the Chamber in welcoming new teachers to the area and offers them appreciation and support for the role they play in the lives of McKinney children. McKinney’s outstanding quality of life attracts families and businesses. A strong school system with superior educational opportunities results in a talented, skilled workforce.
Jodi Ann LaFreniere Ray, Chamber President and CEO states, “The Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of supporting the educators of McKinney. The Business and Education New Teacher Welcome Breakfast is an annual event where our business leaders have the opportunity to celebrate the valuable service teachers provide to the future of McKinney.”
Quinn, a member of the U.S. National Bobsled Team and an Olympic hopeful, will offer insight into the education system in McKinney and how it has impacted his life. He is a former McKinney High football star and a former professional wide receiver, spending time with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The Business Education Teacher Breakfast will be held at McKinney Boyd High School on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
