The Dallas Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in the identification and apprehension of a sexual assault suspect. Due to similarities in this suspect’s motives, Dallas Police Detectives believe this single suspect has committed seven (7) Sexual Assault offenses on six (6) different dates. The dates of these offenses span from June 22, 2013 through September 1, 2013. All of these offenses occurred within an area of South Dallas roughly bordered by East RL Thornton Freeway, Haskell Ave, Spring Ave., and Malcolm X Boulevard (see the map).
All of the victims were walking in the early morning hours between midnight and 6:00 am, when the suspect approached these victims armed with a handgun and forced the victims to nearby secluded areas where he robbed the victims and sexually assaulted them.
The suspect has been described as a Black/Male, mid 20’s to 30 yrs. in age, 5 ft. 6 inches to 5 ft. 11 inches in height, approximately 200 lbs. The suspect has covered his face with various types of cloths during each offense and has worn prescription glasses during some of the offenses. Clothing worn by the suspect has been described as T-shirts and shorts.
While the suspect has approached all of his victims on foot, he may have driven away from these offense locations in either a gray Honda Civic 4 door or an older model gray Volvo 4 door.
The public should take special precautions to not walk alone in this area during early morning hours. This suspect who has relied upon darkness in making his approaches on the victims should be considered armed and dangerous.
