Life-Saving Campaign Kicks off tomorrow

21Since it went national in 2007, 40 Days for Life has seen spectacular results through the power of prayer — 7,536 lives saved, 83 workers that have left the abortion business forever, and 41 abortion facilities that have closed down. Last year in Dallas, over 5,000 faithful prayed outside the Southwestern late-term abortion center where 36 babies were saved from abortion during the 40-day campaign, plus 101 at the 4 other abortion centers in Dallas. “This year, we hope for even more miracles,” said Lauren Muzyka, Campaign Director of 40 Days for Life-Dallas.

The 40 Days for Life-Dallas campaign will kick off with a rally at Harry S. Moss Park on Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. The kickoff rally will begin 40 days of prayer and fasting, with special attention to prayer in the public right-of-way outside the Southwestern late-term abortion center, 8616 Greenville Ave, Dallas, as well as personal prayer and community outreach.

40 Days for Life is a peaceful, intensive pro-life campaign that focuses on 40 days of prayer and fasting, 40 days of peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and 40 days of grassroots educational outreach. The 40-day time frame is drawn from examples throughout Biblical history where God brought about world-changing transformation in 40-day periods. All prayer vigil participants are asked to sign a statement of peace, pledging to conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner at all times.

Dallas is one of the 306 cities from coast to coast conducting simultaneous 40 Days for Life campaigns from September 25 through November 3. “We start this effort by drawing members of the community together to share the vision of 40 Days for Life and to pray for God’s blessings on this effort. It is time to focus attention on the harm abortion has done to our city,” said Muzyka. “We look forward to seeing what kind of transformation God will bring about in our city. We truly hope that this fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in Dallas.”

Speakers at the 40 Days for Life kickoff event include: keynote speaker Steve Karlen, National 40 Days for Life Director of North American Outreach; Pastor Sam Fenceroy, Mount Olive Church of Plano; Aurora Tinajero, host of the “Celebrando la Vida” radio program; Karen Garnett, Executive Director of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee and President of Pro-Life Dallas; as well as Reverend Dominic Colangelo, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Richardson.
