Honeybaked and Feeding America continuing partnership to feed food insecure families

feedingamericathumbATLANTA — HoneyBaked is sharing in the season of giving by continuing its partnership with Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger-relief organization. More than 49 million Americans live in food insecure households, according to the USDA, including 15.9 million children. Food insecurity exists in every county in America.

“Since we launched our partnership with Feeding America three years ago, we’ve donated 1.3 million meals,” said Maggie DeCan, COO of HoneyBaked. “Hunger is a real issue and we are continuing to do what we can to help those in need not only during the holiday but throughout the year.”

The thousands of customers who will walk into HoneyBaked stores in the days leading up to Christmas will have an opportunity to help provide meals to local food banks across the country by contributing to HoneyBaked’s partnership with Feeding America. Each dollar donated until Jan. 5, 2014 will help provide nine meals to local food banks across the country.

HoneyBaked stores will accept register donations at its more than 400 retail store nationwide, and 100 percent of donations will support Feeding America and its local member food banks. Each store will be offering extended holiday hours, opening early and closing late, through Dec. 24.

“This Christmas, Americans will gather around the table with family and friends to enjoy a meal, give thanks and recognize blessings,” said Leah Ray, vice president of corporate partnerships at Feeding America. “What we can’t forget is that millions of Americans may go hungry this holiday season, which is exactly what HoneyBaked and Feeding America are teaming up to fight against. We are thankful for the generous donations of HoneyBaked’s customers who demonstrate the true meaning of the holiday season. Their donations will put a meal on another family’s table that otherwise may have gone hungry.”

Hours vary by locations, so customers are encouraged to visit honeybaked.com for specific hours and store locations. To find out how you can help fight hunger in your community, visit www.feedingamerica.org.
