MCKINNEYÂ – McKinney ISD 2014-15 Juniors and 2014-15 Sophomores are invited to participate in the annual McKinney ISD 2014 PSAT Rising Junior and Rising Sophomore Preparation Program this summer to prepare for higher achievement on the October 2014 PSAT/NMSQT.
The PSAT/NMSQT is a standardized test that provides practice for the SAT® Reasoning Test and offers an opportunity to compete for scholarship programs when it is taken during October of a student’s junior year. Juniors may be eligible to enter the National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s scholarship competitions as well as programs that give special recognition to outstanding Hispanic and African-American students.
All McKinney ISD sophomores take the PSAT each year because the results and student score reports are valuable tools that can help prepare students for the SAT® and education opportunities beyond high school.
Interested students can choose to attend either one of two designated camps. The
classes will focus on strategies and skills in critical reading, math problem solving and writing.
The cost of each camp is $125. Registration runs until the day before each event, but space is limited to 60 students per camp.
